DAILY SCHEDULE
Discovery Time - Upon arrival, children explore materials and interact with each other. Handwriting is worked on and teacher works one-on-one with children.
Circle Time - Class gathers for opening time including welcome message, math exploration, clockwork, calendar activity, introducing to our weekly letter friend and learning the monthly theme song.
Literacy Groups - Exposure to the sounds and letter names through engaging activity groups. Students identify beginning, middle, ending and rhyming sounds in words. Students also practice recognizing, forming and writing letters. They develop an awareness of print in the world around them.
Choose Time - Children have the opportunity to explore and choose what they would like to play with. Social interaction is practiced and encouraged.
Food Experience- Food Experience is a time to explore and try out new foods.Food Experience also provides social opportunities with a time to relax and share. A healthy snack will be provided that starts with the letter of the week.This helps children identify with the letter and also helps them understand that letters are all around us.
Music and Movement - A large variety of songs, dance, musical instruments and rhythms are enjoyed. Once a month our music teacher comes to teach the basics of music education.
Whole Group-Class gathers to discuss and learn about our monthly theme. Whole group will also consists of show and tell & story time. Whole Group helps with children's comprehension, vocabulary and improves both listening and speaking skills.
Learning Centers- Learning Centers are carefully planned activities that children learn through active play. Learning centers are designed to help develop skills and meet the needs of the children. Visual Art, Math, Health, Writing, Reading, Listening, Music Awareness, Construction, Dramatic Play, Movement & Coordination and Scientific Reasoning are just some of the center themes we plan.
Community Circle- Time to reflect on the day and help build a feeling of acceptance in our classroom. Community Circle is a time where we show appreciation for others, acknowledge special qualities, skills and contributions.
Outside Play-We will take the opportunity each day to play outside. Run, jump, ride, play together and practice our social skills.
Departure - Children are taken outside for curb side pickup
